Suck It Up and Save Yourself Now
Remember way back six months ago today you were pigging out on that ‘last’ pint of chunky monkey while you grabbed the remaining morsels of that holiday rum cake?
Or were you admiring how good you looked for your new gym id card?
For sure this year you are going to manage and master the stress that beats you down daily.
Come January 1- you were gonna do it.
Full steam ahead...Get Out Of My Way!
Hi there, welcome to the second half.
How’s that workin’ out for you?
Did you?
Okay, okay.
Fugetaboutit.
Yes, drop it. It doesn’t matter anymore. No matter how much you willed, you didn’t get there.
So what? Does it really matter now?
What you wanted then was based on a mass entrance into this fantasy world of…
“I’m gonna change”.
You hopped on that deal because everyone does it.
It was kind of like a Groupon deal. Use the collective buying power to get a great deal. As a featured business in Groupon, the rule is that you reduce your regular rates by at least 50%. As a buyer, there has to be at least a certain amount of you or the deal doesn’t go.
In other words, the power of the people has to tip the deal for it to spill over and everyone benefits.
We’re well aware that January 1st of every year is Resolution time.
Like Groupon you get sucked into the collective power of your fellow resolvers. And yes, it ought to be a resolution that has substance to it. Resolving to drink an extra glass of water once a month ain’t gonna cut it.
Pack it with power, tell everyone about it, and go!
Fast forward and here you are. LIVE from July 2011, it’s you again.
Everything that you did in January holds no value anymore.
Imagine that you have this gigantic eraser which enables you to completely annul those resolutions. …like it never happened.
Good, freshen up cause you got a second half to play.
Use these 6 months going forward to create 3 new intentions.
First, scope out 5 desires that really matter to you.
Here are some ways to dive into those:
- Explore your idea of personal development. Pick one facet that could use a boost. This could make a difference in how you show up in the world leaving you a little more transparent and true.
- Scout out a way to manage your level of stress whether it is at your job, in your business, or amongst a team you partner with. Keep it smooth and honest.
- Inquire into one simple, sensible and practical way that you can immediately begin to perceive your life in a positive way. Sure, crappy stuff happens, but not all the time. Open your eyes to positive change and it will simply show up.
- Find a daily or weekly NMW. What is it No Matter What that you will do? This can be related to exercise, giving someone a compliment, connecting with a person in business, drink 3 glasses of agua, walk for 15 minutes, etc. Stick to this NMW by keeping it uncluttered and clean.
- Discover a new way to connect with your passions. Say you love gardening, or riding your motorcycle, maybe cooking Martha Stewart style, volunteering at hospice, how about your golf game? If you’re passionate about anything, you enjoy it. Chances are that you also approach it with the same mindset every time simply because you are familiar. Is there a way to chase your proverbial style aside and explore a new avenue? Passions can pack a lot of power, so keep it down to earth.
After you’re done this mass exploration, reconnoiter to see what 3 you really want to land on.
Notice the one consistent theme above?
It’s the last couple of words of the sentence.
When you’re grooving into your exploring, scouting, inquiring, finding and discovering remember to keep it simple.
You can’t argue with that.
What really matters to you so that you can make a difference in your own life for this second half?
If you can make a difference in your own life that energy will bleed out into the masses.
You will help tip the deal so that everyone benefits.
Spend this holiday weekend as we flip to the second half to help tip your own personal powers for the greater good of all.
