How To Add Life to Your Years
102, could you imagine riding your bike?
Not degrees, that would be horrific.
102 years old.
So what, might have to put those training wheels back on just for safety’s sake.
The point is you’re on the bike cause you want to be.
That’s cool.
Living longer sounds good- as long as you have health in that length.
And happiness.
And integrity.
But, is it really about adding years to live longer?
How about if those years have the life sucked out of them?
What’s in a life then?
A colleague shared this TED talk below.
It features Dan Buettner, best selling author, who tells us the secrets shared from the Blue Zones, where people live longer, better and happier.
Here are my 5 biggest take-aways on the 19 minute TED talk from Buettner:
- Set yourself up so that you are consistently nudged into physical activity
- Lessen your conveniences so that you have to move often
- Eat less and stop when you think you are 80% full
- Take time to downshift = s-l-o-w down
- Care to connect and relish relationships

I hope to make it to 102. It would be great to see what the world looks like in 70 years.
